Sharon Jones

Department Chair at Africa Nazarene University

Sharon Jones serves as the Department Chair for the Department of Environment and Natural Resource Management at Africa Nazarene University since September 2018. Previously, Sharon held the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from December 2013 to November 2016, where responsibilities included project management for the NSF-Coupled Human Natural Systems project focused on land management and tick-borne diseases. Educationally, Sharon obtained a PhD in Zoology from the University of Cape Town, which was complemented by earlier degrees: an MSc in Wildlife Health and Management from the University of Nairobi and a BSc in Biological Sciences from King's College London. Prior roles also include Wildlife Officer at Lafarge Eco Systems Ltd, graduate studies focusing on GIT parasite infestations at the University of Nairobi, and field research with Colobus Trust.
