Phyllis Dickerson

CEO at African American Mayors Association

Phyllis Dickerson currently serves as CEO of the African American Mayors Association (AAMA). She is also the CEO & President of Red Ink, LLC, since 2002, which assists organizations with business development and government relations. Before joining AAMA in 2021, she served as Regional Mayoral Director for Mike Bloomberg’s 2020 Campaign. She also served as a Lead Advance staffer for two U.S. Presidents. Phyllis also previously served as the first woman and African American Chief of Staff for former Mayor Mark Stodola of Little Rock, Arkansas from 2015 to 2019. In this role, she coordinated daily operations within the Mayor’s office, conducted research and analyses on constituent issues, and provided support for the implementation of special programs and initiatives. She also served as the Special Events & Program Coordinator for the City of Little Rock. In that capacity, she was responsible for planning the Central High Integration 50th.

Throughout her career, Phyllis has proudly served on the Board for the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA), Delta Research & Education Foundation, Cross World Africa Foundation and is a current member of the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In 2001, Phyllis received a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management from the University of Central Arkansas. Outside of the office, she is an advocate for children with Sickle Cell Anemia Disease as well as enjoys traveling, reading, and watching Western films. Her mission is to continue to ensure her clients get the best service possible in order to move their organization to the next level.
