Hashim Oozeer Aia

Hashim Oozeer AIA is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit assessment and project financing, currently serving as Manager Credit Assessment for Oil and Gas at African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) since April 2025. Prior to this role, Hashim held various positions at MCB Group from January 2017 to March 2025, including Credit Manager for Specialized Lending and Credit Structuring Lead, focusing on oil and gas financing, hospitality projects, and power projects. Hashim's responsibilities emphasized client relationship building, project finance negotiations, restructuring propositions for non-performing loans, and performance monitoring through KPIs. Additionally, Hashim has contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer at the University of Mauritius and the University of Technology Mauritius, specializing in actuarial science.
