Whitney Ogutu has a diverse work experience. Whitney began their career in 2016 as an Information Technology Intern at the National Hospital Insurance Fund in Kenya. In 2019, they joined the founding team at Baraza Media Lab, where they organized design workshops to collect feedback and engage the community. In 2020, they became a Podcast Correspondent at People & Company. In 2021, they joined African Leadership Group as a Program Manager and Community Programming Manager. Prior to that, they were a Community and Programs Lead and Programs and Membership Associate at Mettā.

Whitney Ogutu obtained a Bachelor of Business Information Technology in Software Development and Database Administration from Strathmore University between 2014 and 2017. In 2023, Whitney obtained a Product Management certification from General Assembly. Whitney also holds certifications in Application Security Analyst - Explorer Award for Students 2016 from IBM, and Instructional Design Principles for Course Creation from Eduflow.
