Chimaobi Omeye

Chimaobi Omeye serves as the Regional Coordinator for West and Central Africa at the Africa Minigrid Developers Association since April 2025, focusing on policy and regulatory strategies, regional reporting, and stakeholder engagement. With extensive experience in the energy sector, Chimaobi previously held the position of Business Development Manager for Mini-Grids at ENGIE Energy Access Africa, where project financing efforts led to electrification for over 150,000 people in Nigeria. Additionally, Chimaobi contributes to the Commonwealth Correspondents Network as a Coordinator and correspondent, representing young journalists and addressing issues such as governance and sustainable development. Chimaobi's education includes a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Investment at Ahmadu Bello University.
