John Vogel

Director: Research And Development at African Parks Network

John Vogel has a diverse work experience in the field of conservation and ecology. John currently serves as the Director of Research and Development at African Parks Network. Prior to this, they worked as a Biodiversity Stewardship Ecologist at the United Nations, where they focused on expanding protected areas to conserve globally important species and habitats in South Africa. Before that, John worked as an Ecological Monitor at andBeyond and as a Conservation Manager at Gondwana Game Reserve. John also gained experience through internships at Bhejane Nature Training and Manyoni Game Reserve. John's work has involved project management, environmental monitoring, sourcing funding, implementing management plans, and educating others about environmental issues.

John Vogel completed their education in the field of nature conservation. In 2017-2018, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree from Nelson Mandela University. Prior to that, they earned a B-tech degree in Nature Conservation from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2012-2013. In 2008-2011, John received a National Diploma in Game Ranch Management from Nelson Mandela University.
