Sulakshana Senanayake

Sulakshana Senanayake is a Senior Associate at Afridi & Angell, focusing on litigation, particularly before the DIFC Courts, since August 2017. Previously, Sulakshana served as an Associate at the same firm and has been an Attorney at Law at the Supreme Court of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka since December 2013. As the Founder of Empower Lanka, Sulakshana established a program providing free renewable energy systems to rural villages. Involvement with the British Council included roles as a Global Changemaker and International Climate Champion. Sulakshana co-created a successful initiative that broke a Guinness World Record for the largest human mosaic in 2011. Founding CFL Sri Lanka in 2010 demonstrated a commitment to environmental education and advocacy for energy-efficient lighting. Academic qualifications include an LLB from the University of London, a Master’s in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Colombo, and a BSc in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths from the same university, alongside completion of law studies at Sri Lanka Law College.
