Efrem Fisher has a diverse work experience history. Efrem started their career as an English and Social Studies Teacher at Colegio Bilingue New Horizons in 2001. Efrem then moved to Edward R. Murrow High School in 2003 as a Social Studies Teacher. In 2009, they transitioned to the field of research as the Director of Research at The Corporate Council on Africa. During this time, they also served as the Editor-in-Chief of The SAIS Review of International Affairs. In 2012, they joined Veracity Worldwide as an Associate Director until 2015. Finally, they joined AFS Intercultural Programs in 2015 as the Chief Programs Officer.

Efrem Fisher has a diverse education history. Efrem first attended Augsburg University in 1999 for a semester abroad in Namibia. Then, from 1997 to 2001, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Duke University. Following this, they attended Brooklyn College from 2003 to 2005, earning a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. Finally, from 2008 to 2010, Efrem Fisher studied at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs, International Economics, African Studies, and Emerging Markets.
