Evan Larsen has over a decade of experience in software development. Evan began their career in 2009 as a Systems Project Administrator for the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration. In this role, they designed and developed a website for healthcare facilities to report ICD-9 incidents, created a Single Sign-on (SSO) server using Windows Identity Foundation, and converted over a few applications to rely on the new SSO server. In 2011, they moved to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as a Senior Info Tech Business Consultant, where they designed and developed a personnel, office, and asset tracking application called PAWS.

In 2013, they held two positions - Software Developer for Flowers Foods, where they designed and developed a web application to interface with their product forecasting system, and Software Developer for the Florida Department of Transportation, where they developed a custom real time Extract Transform Load (ETL) tool.

In 2014, they worked as a Software Developer for Monster, where they single-handedly designed and developed a ticket management website for DEO and Monster.com. In 2015, they joined AIM Consulting Group as a Computer Programmer, where they worked on adding features to Tamarac’s flagship software, Advisor view, for managing financial portfolios, developed a live preview feature for their online pdf reporting software, and developed an A/B testing tool for their online API’s.

In 2016, they worked as a Mobile Web Developer for Alaska Air, where they helped add features to their existing REST API. In 2017, they returned to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as a Software Developer, where they did a lot of front end development on their driver licensing software.

In 2019, they joined The Florida Legislature, OLITS as a Software Architect, where they designed and developed from the ground up a web application for all state employees and candidates running for government positions to file their financial disclosures online. Evan had a team of six developers, three business analysts, one UI designer, and a team leader. Evan did a lot of development, but also spent a lot of time working with the team to make sure everything was running smoothly.

In 2022, they began working as a Senior Software Architect for Afterman Software.

Evan Larsen attended Tallahassee Community College from 2000-2003, where they earned an AA degree. Evan then attended Florida State University from 2004-2006, but did not earn a degree.
