Joshua Woodard has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they became the CEO of AcreValue, a company that provides the fastest way to research land and find current valuations. Prior to this, they were the Founder and CEO of Ag-Analytics from 2014-2021, offering customized and secure data services to farmers, growers, researchers, and agribusiness. Before that, they worked at Cornell University from 2011-2014, where they held the roles of Associate Professor-Agribusiness & Finance and Assistant Professor and Zaitz Family Faculty Fellow in Agribusiness and Finance. From 2009-2011, they were an Assistant Professor - Risk Management & Managerial Economics at Texas A&M University, and from 2008-2009 they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Joshua Woodard earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics from Frostburg State University between 2000 and 2003. Joshua then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agricultural & Consumer and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they completed in 2008.
