Farhana Alarakhiya

Farhana Alarakhiya serves as the Chief Data Innovation Officer at Aga Khan University since February 2021, focusing on developing advanced data platforms to enhance the quality of life for marginalized communities in Africa and South East Asia. Concurrently, Farhana holds the position of Vice Chair on the Board of Directors and Co-chair of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee at BGC Ottawa, contributing to programming for vulnerable youth. In October 2023, Farhana joined Insight7 as an Advisory Board Member and continues to provide advisory support to Korbit Technologies Inc., both established in February 2021. Previous experience includes significant roles at Shopify as VP of Product - Insights and Analytics, at Cliniconex on the Advisory Board, and as Vice President of Product at RMS, along with a tenure at IBM where Farhana led Smarter Care Watson Health and held multiple directorial positions. Farhana's career began at SAS, where roles included Director of Presales and business ownership of various incubate businesses. Farhana earned a Bachelor of Engineering and Management in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University.
