Asa Tapley is a medical doctor and advisor who has dedicated their career to fighting the spread of disease. Asa began their career as a resident physician in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where they were inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and served as the residency graduation speaker in 2018. Asa then moved to Harvard Medical School, where they were an Instructor in Medicine from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, they became an Attending Physician in Hospital Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
In 2020, Asa joined the COVID-19 Prevention Network as an advisor. Asa has also worked with OxiWear, a company that produces protective clothing for healthcare workers, and Covid Watch, a mobile app that allows users to track their symptoms and exposure to the virus.
Asa Tapley attended Dartmouth College for their Bachelor of Arts, where they studied history. Asa then attended the University of California, Berkeley for their Master of Science. Finally, they attended the University of California, San Francisco for their Doctor of Medicine. After completing their medical degree, they received certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine Board Certification. Asa also received certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine in Massachusetts State Physician's License. Lastly, they received certification from the Washington State Department of Health in Washington State Physicians License.
