Hee-Sook Song

Hee-Sook Song currently serves as the Director of Workforce Development at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBiotech), a position held since September 2022. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at BASF from April 2000 to August 2022, where titles included Head of Trait Evaluation US, Sr. Manager of Crop Pipelines, Head of Molecular Biology Technology Center, Research Manager of Molecular Enabling Technologies, and Sr. Scientist & Group Leader of Enabling Technologies. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Sr. Project Scientist at Monsanto Company from October 1998 to March 2000 and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at both the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Sookmyung Women's University. Hee-Sook Song holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master's in Botany/Plant Biology from Seoul National University, and a Bachelor's in Biology from Sookmyung Women's University.
