Design Director at Age of Learning

Amy Herrera has extensive work experience in the fields of design and animation. Amy started their career at Nickelodeon Animation Studios as an intern, where they worked on backgrounds, storyboards, and props. From there, they joined The Romp as a Senior Animator and Quality Control specialist, handling animation, illustration, and design for a feature film. Amy then worked at Unbound Studios, Cornerstone Animation, and Lucha Va Voom in various animator and game designer roles. In 2003, they joined interFUEL as an Animator and Illustrator, working with notable clients such as Sesame Street and PBS. Amy also freelanced as an Animator, Illustrator, and Game Designer, collaborating with clients like Vans, Playboy, and Captain Morgan. Amy'smost recent position was at Age of Learning, where they held roles such as Senior Game Designer, Senior Experience Designer/Product Owner, Design Manager, Senior Product Design Manager, and currently serves as the Design Director. At Age of Learning, Amy focused on designing educational play experiences for mobile and web platforms, collaborating with teachers and curriculum specialists to ensure meaningful and user-friendly UX/UI.

Amy Herrera has a Bachelor of Science degree in Animation Arts from Woodbury University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2001. Amy also has an Associate of Arts degree in Art from Lorain County Community College, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Amy is currently studying Anthropology and Child Development at Pasadena City College since 2021. Additionally, they have a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in January 2022. In 2010, Amy took courses in Maya at Gnomon, but no degree was obtained.
