Piet Powell

Piet Powell currently serves as the Assistant Commissioner at the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission since October 2025. Previously, Piet held the position of General Manager - Compliance at the Clean Energy Regulator from June 2019 to October 2025. Piet's extensive experience includes roles as Regional Manager Northern and Manager Government Code Compliance at the Australian Building and Construction Commission, as well as Chief of Staff at Fair Work Building and Construction. Additionally, Piet has worked as a Senior Adviser at the Australian Communications and Media Authority, a Senior Legal Officer at the Attorney General's Department, and a Security Analysis Liaison Officer at the Australian Office of Transport Security. Piet began a career in intelligence analysis with the Australian Crime Commission. Piet holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from The Australian National University and the University of Tasmania, respectively.
