Alex Romme has held various positions in the engineering and automotive industries since 2014. From 2014 to 2021, they worked as a Mechanic at Big O Tires and a Tutor for a statics class at Fort Lewis College. In 2018, they became a Teaching Assistant for the Thermal Fluids Laboratory and Physics II (electromagnetism) at Fort Lewis College. In 2019, they became a Coach at Durango Martial Arts Academy, and in 2021 they began working as a Propulsion Test Engineer and Propulsion Test Technician at AGILE Space Industries. Additionally, they were a resource for Lung-on-a-Chip research group at Fort Lewis College.
Alex Romme attended San Juan College from 2011 to 2013, where they earned an Associate's degree in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician. Alex then attended Fort Lewis College from 2013 to 2021, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics. In April 2021, they also obtained a CRLA II - College Reading & Learning Association Tutor Certification from Fort Lewis College.
