Cameron McMains

Cameron McMains has a diverse work experience, starting in 2014 as a Telesales Representative at Mettler-Toledo International, Inc where they generated leads for a nationwide sales team. In 2015, they transitioned to become a Park Ranger at the City of Portland, where they focused on ambassadorship, conflict mediation, and education.

In 2017, Cameron took on the role of a Research Assistant at Portland State University, where they surveyed and modeled a Douglas Fir forest on Mount Hood. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Data Analyst, assisting clients in pulling actionable insights from data using various tools such as R, Python, Excel, SQL, and ArcGIS.

From 2018 to 2022, Cameron joined the Harry Butler Institute as a Research Statistician, utilizing their expertise in machine learning and big data analysis to assist researchers in making impactful scientific findings in the fields of ecology, agriculture, and molecular biology.

Currently, they are working at AgileTrailblazers as a Product Manager (Key System Analyst II), starting in 2022.

Cameron McMains completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science from Portland State University, during the period from 2011 to 2017. Additionally, from 2013 to 2014, McMains pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Natural Resource Management at Oregon State University. Subsequently, McMains pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Biology at Murdoch University, from 2018 to 2021.
