Shawn Zhong

Shawn Zhong is an accomplished engineer and technology leader with extensive experience in algorithm and architecture design, particularly in computer vision, AI, and video processing. Currently serving as Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer at Agora since January 2018, Shawn has led innovative developments in real-time audio and video communications. Prior to Agora, Shawn held executive roles at Hisense Microchip Company, where noteworthy contributions included pioneering high-quality video processing technologies and leading the development of multiple groundbreaking chips. Shawn's earlier career includes significant positions at companies such as Broadcom and LSI Corporation, where expertise in digital video technology and algorithms was honed. Shawn began an academic career as a post-doctorate research associate at the University of Maryland, following studies at Peking University.
