Patrick Herber has a diverse work experience in the software development field. Patrick began their career at BSI as a Help Desk Specialist and Office-Automation Programmer, gaining valuable insight into user needs and developing proficiency in MS Access, Excel, and Word macros. In 2000, they transitioned to BSI Online as a Java Developer, where they worked on a mutual funds trading online platform. Herber then joined CSC as a Senior Consultant, specializing in CRM platform implementation and learning about refactoring and design patterns. Their expertise in Java development grew when they joined Arpage AG as a Software Engineer, where they worked on various web applications and Open Source projects such as FINS. At Arpage Applications AG, they continued to develop a secure collaboration platform called myvaccines.ch. Herber then took on the role of CTO and Senior Java Developer/Architect at AGORA SecureWare, leading a research and development team in creating a secure collaboration platform called AGORA. Through their experiences, Herber has garnered strong technical skills in full stack development, API design, and web front-end implementation, with a focus on secure and confidential solutions.

Patrick Herber attended the ZHAW School of Engineering from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications in various subjects. In 2014, they received certifications in Usable Security and Software Security from Coursera Verified Certificates. The following year, in 2015, they obtained certifications in Hardware Security, Cryptography, Surveillance Law, and Responsive Web Design, all from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2016, they obtained a certification in Single Page Web Applications with AngularJS from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2017, they received a certification in Learn Angular 4 from Scratch from Udemi. In 2018, they obtained the IBM Blockchain Essentials certification from IBM. Their most recent certifications include Python 3 from SoloLearn, obtained in January 2021, and Introduction to Containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift from cognitiveclass.ai, obtained in August 2021.
