Malcolm Athaide, Ph.D has extensive experience in the banking and finance industry. Malcolm is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Agrim Housing Finance, where they are focused on promoting financial inclusion by helping self-employed low to middle-income families achieve their dream of owning their first home. Malcolm follows the principles of Transparency, Simplicity, Trust, Technology, and Happiness in their work.

Prior to their current role, Malcolm worked at YES BANK as the Head of Data Analytics and Chief Risk Control Officer for Retail and MSME Lending, Fraud Control. Malcolm held this position from May 2012 to January 2019.

Before joining YES BANK, Malcolm was the Head of Credit for Retail, SME, and Credit Cards at Standard Chartered Bank from June 2004 to May 2012.

In 2002, they served as the Chief Manager of Credit for Home Loans and Mortgages at ICICI Bank. Prior to that, Malcolm worked as an Account Manager for SME Lending at Scotiabank from 2001 to 2002 and as a Manager for Retail Lending and Corporate Finance at Tata Capital from 1995 to 2001.

Malcolm started their career at Siemens as an Executive Engineer for Projects and Automation from 1992 to 1993.

Malcolm Athaide, Ph.D's education history includes a Doctorate (Fellow) in MSME Finance from XLRI Jamshedpur, which they pursued from 2010 to 2014. Their research focused on Credit Constraints and Information Asymmetry. Prior to this, they completed their Masters in Management Studies (MMS) with a specialization in Finance from Sydenham Institute of Management between 1993 and 1995. Malcolm began their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics from the University of Mumbai, which they completed from 1988 to 1992.
