Philip Lessard

Project Manager and Head of Biochemistry at Agrivida

Philip Lessard has worked in the biochemistry field since 1992. Philip began their career as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Monsanto in 1992. In 1994, they joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Research Scientist & Instructor. Theirresearch activities focused on molecular genetics and metabolic engineering of industrially relevant bioprocesses. Philip also managed grants and proposals, budgets and deadlines, and supervised and trained numerous post-doctoral scientists, graduate students and undergraduates. In 2008, they joined Agrivida as Project Manager and Head of Biochemistry. At Agrivida, they were responsible for the GRAINZYME\u00ae technology, which produces enzymes and other proteins inside a kernel of corn.

Philip Lessard received a Ph.D. in Biology and Biomedical Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis between 1986 and 1992. Prior to that, they earned an A.B. in Biology and Visual Studies from Dartmouth College between 1982 and 1986.
