Graham Miao

Graham Miao is the Chief Financial Officer at AgroFresh. Graham has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Prior to joining AgroFresh, Graham was the President, Chief Financial Officer and Board Director at Pernix Therapeutics. Graham was responsible for leading finance and accounting, M&A, investor relations, business operations in branded and generic drug products, supply chain and trade, regulatory affairs and QA, medical and scientific affairs and IT. Under their leadership, the company improved operational effectiveness and EBITDA, consolidated management and sales forces to better align with business size, completed complex debt restructuring and financing transactions that enhanced liquidity and financial flexibility, delivered consistent quarterly profitability improvement in a challenging environment, and recruited new board members and regained compliance with Nasdaq listing requirements.

Before joining Pernix Therapeutics, Graham was the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President at PDI, Inc., a leading provider of sales force solutions to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Graham also held various positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, including Head of Investor Relations for the Americas, Vice President of Finance for the $5B Cardiovascular & Metabolic Franchise, and Vice President & Controller of Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics.

Graham holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Graham Miao has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Columbia Business School in the field of finance and general management. Graham also has a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. from Columbia University in the field of biological sciences. Finally, they have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Fudan University in biology.
