Kim Matthews

Kim Matthews has a comprehensive work experience in the animal science and agriculture sector. Starting as a Scientific Officer at Meat and Livestock Commission in 1992, they progressed to roles like Meat Scientist, Head of R&D and eventually became the Head of Animal Breeding & Product Quality at AHDB. Kim also served as Interim Head of R&D at AHDB-EBLEX and held roles as Member Nominated Trustee Director at MLC Pension Scheme Trustees Limited. Currently, they are active in BSAS as Vice President, President, and Past President (Trustee).

Kim Matthews completed a BSc in Agriculture (Animal Science) at the University of Reading from 1987 to 1990. Kim attended St. Augustines RC Secondary School in Trowbridge and The John of Gaunt School, but no degree information is available for these schools. In 2016, Kim obtained a certification as a Registered Animal Scientist from the BSAS - British Society of Animal Science. Kim is also a Chartered Biologist, certified by the Royal Society of Biology.
