Maria Brownell

Maria Brownell is a seasoned attorney with significant expertise in public law and litigation, currently serving as a Shareholder at Ahlers & Cooney, P.C. since January 2020, following a tenure as an Attorney at the same firm beginning in May 2016, where representation and advice are provided to public entities. Prior experience includes serving as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Iowa from June 2015 to May 2016, adjudicating disputes between citizens and government agencies. Maria also held positions as an Associate Attorney at Brick Gentry, P.C. from October 2012 to June 2015 and as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Iowa Supreme Court from August 2009 to November 2012. Maria holds a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Pre-Law emphasis from Creighton University.
