Emma Rainford has a diverse work experience in HR and learning and development. Emma began their career as a Research Assistant at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2013. Emma then worked as a Junior HR Consultant at Putmans Advies, where they consulted small and medium-sized enterprises on HR matters. Later, they freelanced as an HR Consultant at Rainford Consulting.

In 2014, Emma joined Vodafone as a Management Trainee, where they led projects in graduate recruitment, learning and development, and enterprise marketing. Emma also served as a Junior Learning and Development Consultant, responsible for young talent recruitment and development, as well as managing the HQ's learning and development program. Emma achieved significant milestones including delivering new traineeship L&D track, launching a well-being program and learning tool, and implementing a successful campus recruitment strategy.

After their time at Vodafone, Emma worked as a Learning and Development Consultant at VodafoneZiggo. Their role involved integrating and redesigning Learning & Development and Talent Management frameworks for the joint venture. Emma managed the L&D offer for the HQ and the traineeship program for young talents, while also providing team development and coaching support to the business.

Currently, Emma works at Ahold Delhaize as a Director HRBP for the Global Support Office. Their responsibilities include shaping and implementing the Learning & Development strategy for Ahold Delhaize's European brands. Emma has been instrumental in delivering a clear L&D strategy and action plan, designing a future skills and capability model, and launching a new global talent development program.

Emma Rainford earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Social Psychology from Tilburg University in 2008-2012. Emma then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Work and Organizational Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in 2012-2013. Prior to their university studies, they completed their VWO degree in Nature & Health from Van Maerlant in 2001-2007. Emma also obtained additional certifications, including MBTI Step 1 (OPP) from OPP in 2018, Insights Discovery Client Practitioner from Insights in December 2019, and certifications in personality reports, ability test, and 360-feedback tools from SHL.
