Wilco Ibes

Wilco Ibes has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Wilco currently works at Ahold Delhaize as the VP Tech Strategy & Architecture Europe. Prior to this, they held the role of Global Director Tech Strategy.

Before joining Ahold Delhaize, Wilco worked at Peapod Digital Labs as the Director of Enterprise Architecture. Wilco was responsible for leading the enterprise architecture function and managing a team of domain architects.

Wilco also has experience at Retail Business Services, where they served as the Director of Enterprise Architecture. In this role, they defined the technology strategy for digital & eCommerce and guided key initiatives to deliver core capabilities.

Earlier in their career, Wilco worked at Ahold Delhaize as the Director of Enterprise Architecture, where they focused on eCommerce, Digital Personalization, Loyalty, Analytics, and architecture ways of working. Wilco also served as a Global Enterprise Architect, where they drove global alignment and collaboration across operating companies on common topics.

Wilco started their career as a Consultant at Accenture Consulting, specializing in Enterprise Data Management and Business Intelligence. Additionally, they had a period of self-employment where they worked as an IT Consultant, Web Designer, and Programmer.

Throughout their career, Wilco has gained expertise in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, integration, and digital transformation. Wilco has demonstrated leadership skills and a strong ability to drive innovation and collaboration in the organizations they have worked for.

Wilco Ibes has a diverse education history. In 1998, they obtained an M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). In 1999, they also received a Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge.

In 2012, Wilco attended Henley Business School and studied Business & Enterprise Architecture from 2012 to 2014. In 2019, they furthered their business education at Harvard Extension School, specializing in Strategic Business Management and Advanced Business Strategy: Gaining a Competitive Edge.

More recently, in 2020, Wilco pursued Mastering Design Thinking at MIT Sloan Executive Education. In 2021, they obtained a certification in Mastering Design Thinking from Emeritus. Additionally, they have plans to obtain the Leading with Purpose certification from Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning in 2024.
