Carlo Micono is an experienced architect and educator specializing in sustainability and façade engineering. Currently serving as an Architect in the Sustainability and Façade Engineering Department at Ai Engineering Srl - Ai Studio since January 2008, Carlo also holds a position as a contract professor at Politecnico di Torino, teaching courses related to building physics and environmental control techniques since October 2003. Additional teaching experience includes a role in the Master in Sustainable Architecture program at IED Istituto Europeo di Design from 2010 to 2018. Carlo has worked as a consultant with various organizations, including TELEYA, where expertise centered on evaluating innovative building envelope performance, and CBRE in the Building Consultancy Department. Carlo's academic background includes a PhD in Technological Innovation for Architecture and Industrial Design and a Master’s Degree in Architecture, both from Politecnico di Torino.

AI has been successfully operating since the early Seventies and it incorporates two separate structures: Ai Engineering, which is an engineering firm, and Ai Studio, an association of professionals. Ai main office is located in Torino (Italy); it also has operative offices in Tirana (Albania), Palestine and in Malta with the associated Company AiG Malta Ltd. Ai employs altogether more than 120 people including partners, employees and highly specialised consultants. Ai encourage the expansion of a “green” building culture promoting the application of energy-environmental sustainability certification systems according to the various protocols (LEED, BREEAM, ITACA, etc).
