Caela Gomes has a diverse work experience in engineering and design. Caela started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE) in 2017 and continued to work in various research and teaching assistant roles at MIT Office of Engineering Outreach Programs and Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.
In 2018, they served as a Toy Product Design Mentor at MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE) and also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Later, in 2019, they became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at MIT Media Lab.
In 2020, Caela joined Dark Matter Chocolate as a Design and Manufacturing Intern and then moved on to work as a Mechanical Design Engineer at White Fox Scooters. Caela also had a brief stint as a User Experience Researcher at JogNog.
Currently, they are working at AI SpaceFactory as both a Lead Mechanical Engineer and Mechatronics Engineer.
Caela Gomes has gained valuable experience in mechanical engineering, design, research, teaching, and mentoring throughout their various positions.
