Data Engineer at Aider International Ltd

Sy Trinh began their work experience in 2010 as a Research Assistant at the Center for Materials Science - Hanoi University of Science, VNU. In this role, they prepared nanoparticles, studied their properties, and collaborated with a biological sciences research group.

In 2017, Sy Trinh joined the University of Canterbury as a Teaching Assistant for various courses including Statistics 1 and Data Mining. They also worked as a Data Science Research Intern during this time.

Starting in 2018, Sy Trinh worked as a PHD Candidate in Traffic Engineering - Data Fusion at the University of Canterbury. In this role, they developed frameworks for real-time traffic state estimation and applied mathematical and statistical models to improve accuracy. They also dealt with missing observations and randomness in the data.

Currently, Sy Trinh is employed as a Data Engineer at Aider, starting in 2022.

Sy Trinh obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi from 2007 to 2011. Sy then pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics from the same university from 2012 to 2015. After that, Sy attended the University of Canterbury from 2017 to 2018, where they obtained a Master's degree in Applied Data Science. Sy continued their education at the University of Canterbury from 2018 to 2022 and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Data Fusion - Traffic Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Sy Trinh has also obtained several certifications. In 2022, they received certifications in Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals from Microsoft in April, and completed various courses in artificial intelligence and deep learning from Coursera. These courses include Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization, and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects, all completed in February and March 2022.
