Fonda LaShay Douglass has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Starting in 2008, they owned a blog called Fonda LaShay // Design and worked as a freelance digital UX designer until 2018. In 2009, they co-founded Stavanger Expats, a community for foreigners in Stavanger, where they managed a team and organized events.
In 2012, Fonda worked as a web designer at adsign reklamebyrå before moving on to Melvær&Lien as a digital designer in 2014. From 2015 to 2019, they were the UX Lead Designer at Olavstoppen AS, where they focused on design systems and apps and helped build the design team. During their time at Olavstoppen, they also worked as a consultant at Equinor, where they played a crucial role in formulating and building the Equinor Design System.
In 2019, Fonda joined Storebrand as a Senior UX Designer, responsible for creating the UX and UI for the Mine penger app. Fonda LaShay also worked as a Design System UX Lead, responsible for moving Storebrand's already existing design system, Storeblocks, to Figma and creating documentation.
Fonda's next role was at Conta in 2021, where they worked as a UX Lead. Later in 2021, they joined Cognite as a Principal Designer and Design System Lead. Currently, Fonda is working at Aidn as a Design System Lead, starting in 2023.
Throughout their career, Fonda has demonstrated a strong expertise in design systems, UX, and leading teams.
Fonda LaShay Douglass attended Francis Tuttle Technology Center from 2003 to 2006. During this time, they pursued a degree in Design, specifically in the field of Graphic & Interactive Design. Additionally, in 2011 to 2012, they studied at Johannes Læringssenter, where they focused on achieving EU Level A1, A2, and B1 proficiency in Norwegian.
