Jan van Gemert

Jan van Gemert is an Associate Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft, specializing in computer vision and deep learning since September 2015. Additionally, Jan serves as a Scientific Officer and Co-founder at Aiir Innovations, a role undertaken since February 2016. Prior to these positions, Jan was a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam from July 2011 to August 2015, focusing on computer vision. Jan's previous experience includes a Postdoc at École normale supérieure, emphasizing appearance and geometry modeling from July 2008 to July 2010, and a PhD research position at Intelligent System Lab Amsterdam from 2004 to 2008, dedicated to automatic image classification. Jan holds a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Amsterdam, earned between 2004 and 2008, a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the same institution, obtained from 1998 to 2003, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven, completed in 1998.
