Megan Gierka, Ed.D., currently serves as Head of Implementation Strategy and Senior Content Developer at the AIM Institute for Learning & Research since June 2022. Gierka's recent experience includes a role on the Mid-Atlantic Regional Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Education from August to December 2023. Previously, Gierka was a LETRS Professional Learning Facilitator at Lexia Learning from 2020 to 2022 and worked from 2019 to 2022 as a Title I Reading Specialist and Instructional Coach for the Cumberland Valley School District. Gierka has also held positions as a Title I Reading Specialist, Head Coach of the Speech & Debate Team, and Classroom Teacher at North Schuylkill School District from 2014 to 2019, and as an Elementary and Middle School Aide through America Reads*America Counts from 2011 to 2014. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, a Master of Education in Reading Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education, also from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
