Sam Spencer

Sam Spencer, CAIA has extensive experience in the investment industry. Sam currently serves as the Director of Analytics, Research, & Governance - Real Estate at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), where they oversee various aspects of the real estate portfolio. Prior to this, they worked at Oregon State Treasury as an Investment Officer, managing the $14 billion real estate portfolio of the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Plan. Sam also served as the real estate portfolio ESG Champion. Before that, Sam was a Senior Analyst at Pension Consulting Alliance, LLC, where they focused on real estate, timberland, and agriculture asset classes, providing research, due diligence, and performance measurement. Sam started their career as an Equity Analyst Intern at Signia Capital Management and also gained experience as the Healthcare Sector Head at the Robblee-Roberts Student Investment Fund. Additionally, Sam worked as a Project Intern at M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust and as a Manager at Miyauchi's, gaining valuable skills in leadership and customer service.

Sam Spencer, CAIA pursued a Global Executive MBA from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business between 2021 and 2023. In 2011, they completed their undergraduate education in Economics, International Business, and Spanish at Whitworth University. Sam also studied Economics at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, although the specific dates are not provided.
