Paul Mouchakkaa most recently served as Managing Partner, Head of Canada with BentallGreenOak, a position he held since June 2020. With BentallGreenOak, Paul led the Canadian Investment Management team which is responsible for a $25 billion diversified real estate portfolio made on behalf of 140 Canadian and global investors.

Previously, Paul served as Managing Investment Director and Head of Real Assets for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), a role he held since 2015. At CalPERS, he had responsibility and authority for CalPERS’ $62 billion real asset portfolio; which includes nearly $53 billion in top tier commercial real estate assets and $8 billion in infrastructure assets located across the U.S., as well as in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Prior to his role at CalPERS, Paul was Managing Director and Global Head of Real Estate Research and Strategy for Morgan Stanley from 2011-2015.

Paul is a Canadian citizen, born in Ottawa and has worked in Toronto, Old Greenwich, Connecticut, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. He is an Honours Economics graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa and holds an MBA majoring in Finance from the University of Oregon.

Bob Dhillon

Suzanne Akers most recently served as Co-Head of Franklin Templeton's Investment Risk Management Group, responsible for FT Equity, Balanced, and Fixed Income strategies globally.

Since joining Franklin Templeton in 2002, Suzanne has held leadership positions in the separately managed accounts division, institutional sales and alternative strategies. Previously, she worked at Morgan Stanley, where she held risk, operations and technology roles in New York and London.

Ms. Akers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, and an MBA from Stanford University where she was an Arjay Miller scholar. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and currently serves as Vice President for the Buy Side Risk Managers Forum of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Suzanne Akers

Krista has over 20 years of Human Resources experience across multiple industries including finance, energy and client services. She was most recently Vice-President of Human Resources at Cenovus Energy, responsible for leading the Human Resources team that delivered the Cenovus Human Resources strategy, including the people and culture integration of Cenovus and Husky Energy.

Krista is passionate about developing a talent organization that is focused on client service, represents a diverse approach to innovation and excellence and has a strong culture of inclusion and trust. She has led global Human Resources teams in multiple companies with headquarters in Canada, the Cayman Islands and Australia.

Deeply committed to investing in people, Krista is a member of the Board of Directors for Hospice Calgary as well as serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a coach and mentor for young professionals in the Human Resources practice.

Krista Pell

Denise leads AIMCo’s Business Technology (BT) team to leverage the technology infrastructure of the organization to invest on behalf of our clients more efficiently. She most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at ATB Financial where she was responsible for leading the Technology, Innovation and Engineering team that was accountable for the digitization and modernization of ATB’s core technologies, along with innovation under ATB Ventures. Ms. Man believes in investing in people and is focused on client centricity, engineering excellence and building trusted interactions that unleash limitless possibilities for Albertans.

With an enthusiasm for technology and innovation, Ms. Man has worked on artificial intelligence research, the development of the 64-bit Itanium microprocessor, intellectual property licensing, and transformations in delivery and operational capacities. Denise is the proud owner of seven patents and several publications with the US Patent Office. She is a member of the Mount Royal University Board of Governors and the Board of Directors for the National Music Centre. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Tua Financial Technologies. She serves as a coach and mentor to others interested in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and is committed to people, inclusion, and a safe and healthy workplace.

Denise Man

Theresa J. Whitmarsh is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Washington State Investment Board (WSIB), one of the United States’ leading institutional investors, managing over $185 billion of state pension, insurance, and other assets. She joined the WSIB in 2003 as Chief Operating Officer and was named CEO in 2009, a position she held through 2021.

Theresa serves on a number of industry boards and advisory councils. She is Chair of FCLTGlobal, Co-Chair of the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership and serves as a director on the board of IFM Investors. She holds advisory roles with several asset management firms.

Prior to her time with the WSIB, Theresa had 20 years of experience in business, government, and media. She has a Master of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Seattle Pacific University.

Theresa is a past Chair of the Council of Institutional Investors and the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, and she is also a former director of the International Centre for Pension Management, and a former external advisor on the ABP Investment Committee. She was also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Long Term Investing and an active contributor to WEF initiatives.

Theresa Whitmarsh

Lorraine Mitchelmore has more than 30 years of oil and gas experience with a third of her career working internationally. Her most recent roles include CEO of Enlighten Innovations, various senior positions in Royal Dutch Shell, including Executive Vice-President Heavy Oil Americas and President and Country Chair of Shell Canada from 2009-2016. Prior to Royal Dutch Shell, she held various positions in BHP Petroleum, Chevron and Petro Canada. Ms. Mitchelmore’s business experience includes leadership in operations, strategic planning, business development, exploration and appraisal, technology start-ups, and public policy.

She serves on the Bank of Montreal, Suncor Energy, and Cheniere Energy Board of Directors and Catalyst Canada Advisory Council. Ms. Mitchelmore has served as a board member and advisor to numerous private and non-profit organizations, including Enlighten Innovations, TransMountain Corporation, Shell Canada, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, and in 2017-18, chaired the Federal Resources of the Future Economic Strategy Table.

Ms. Mitchelmore holds a BSc in Geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland, an MSc in Geophysics from the University of Melbourne, Australia and an MBA from Kingston Business School in London, England.

Lorraine Mitchelmore

Sandra Lau was named co-Chief Investment Officer, Head of Public Investments in 2022. She is charged with overseeing fixed income, mortgages and public equities investments on behalf of AIMCo clients.

Prior to this role, Sandra was Executive Vice President, Fixed Income, leading a team of investment professionals responsible for managing fixed income, private placement, private mortgages and private debt and loan assets.

Since joining AIMCo in 1999, she has held progressively more senior positions.

Sandra holds a B.Comm and an MA in Economics and Finance from the University of Alberta, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. She is the Co-Founder of Edmonton Women in Finance, and a member of Bank of Canada Canadian Fixed Income Forum. Sandra sits on the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Sandra Lau

Amit Prakash joined AIMCo in 2020 as its first Chief Investment Strategy Officer with a subsequent title change to Chief Fiduciary Management Officer, reflecting an expanded role in serving the needs of clients. Amit was formerly Managing Director, Multi Asset Solutions, Canada at BMO Global Asset Management in Toronto. Prior to this role, Amit was Managing Director, Global Exchange Traded Funds and Alternative Investments and was also responsible for establishing and leading BMO Global Asset Management’s Asia business based out of Hong Kong.

His career spans portfolio management, investment and product strategy and trading roles with top global investment management firms such as BlackRock in Singapore and London, Barclays Global Investors in Toronto and Wells Fargo Nikko Advisors in San Francisco.

Amit holds an MBA from Tulane University, a master of economics and bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Delhi and is a CFA charterholder. He is on the board of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG).

Amit Prakash

Paul Langill is [AIMCo](/org/aimco-ca)’s Chief Financial Officer. Paul joined [AIMCo](/org/aimco-ca) in 2020 from TD Bank Financial Group in Toronto where he was the Special Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TD Securities. Previously, Paul was the Executive Vice President of [TD Bank Group](/org/td-bank) and the Chief Operating Officer of TD Securities. He was responsible for overseeing global governance, the initiatives portfolio, operations and technology services.

Before becoming TD Securities’ COO, Paul held several other senior leadership positions throughout his 20 plus years with [TD Bank Group](/org/td-bank). As the Senior Vice President, Trading Risk, Risk Management, Paul was responsible for executing multi-year programs to restructure and strengthen risk management control functions and proactively identify, measure and monitor market risks within the organization.

Prior to this role, Paul was the CFO of TD Securities, and he held senior positions within TD’s Treasury & Balance Sheet Management group. Prior to his career with [TD Bank Group](/org/td-bank), Paul was a partner in Ernst & Young’s Capital Markets Practice.
Paul holds a master of accounting and a bachelor of arts from the [University of Waterloo](/org/university-of-waterloo) and is a CPA, CA.

Paul Langill

Jim Keohane was President and CEO of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension plan from 2011 until his recent retirement in March 2020. He joined [HOOPP](/org/hoopp) in 1999, bringing more than 25 years of institutional investing experience with several national firms.

Mr. Keohane is a frequent speaker on retirement income security and liability driven investing.

Jim was the architect of [HOOPP](/org/hoopp)’s Liability Driven Investment strategy and is considered a global expert in this area. He is a strong advocate for collective pension schemes and has championed several studies on the topic.

After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the [University of Ottawa](/org/university-of-ottawa), Mr. Keohane obtained his MBA at Queen's University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has completed the Directors Education Program (Rotman School of Business) at the Institute of Corporate Directors. Jim is on the Board of Queen’s University and is the Chairman of the Investment Committee and Chairman of the Pension Committee. He is a former member of the Board of the Canadian Coalition on Good Governance, and previously served on the Board of Home Capital. He was selected as a member of the Ontario Technical Advisory Panel on Retirement Income Security.

Jim Keohane

Evan Siddall joined as President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2021. Before joining, Siddall was President and Chief Executive Officer at [Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation](/org/canada-mortgage-and-housing-corporation), a role he held for 8 years.

Peter Teti leads a team of experienced professionals responsible for Private Equity and
Relationship Investments. Peter joined AIMCo in 2012.

Peter has 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Peter has led the Private Equity group since he joined and is a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to AIMCo, Peter was a Managing Director of Rothschild Canada advising organizations on mergers and acquisitions, privatizations and restructurings. Prior to Rothschild, Peter spent eight years in London in the investment banking industry advising companies on cross-border M&A. 

Peter holds a BCom (Honours) from Queen’s University, CPA, CA and ICD.D designations.

Peter Teti

Ben Hawkins leads the team of investment professionals responsible for a global portfolio of Infrastructure and Renewable Resources investments. Ben also currently serves on the board of directors for AES Clean Energy, having previously served on the boards of London City Airport, Puget Sound Energy, Grupo SAESA, Mosaic Forest Corp and Autopista Central. Ben joined AIMCo in 2007 as a Portfolio Manager with a focus on strengthening the direct investment capabilities for the asset class.

Since becoming part of the infrastructure team, Ben has held progressively more senior positions resulting in him becoming head of the group in 2014. Ben’s previous experience includes the utility sector where he worked in several commercial roles developing and acquiring infrastructure assets across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to that, Ben worked for an advisory firm providing private capital solutions as well as developing and refining business strategy.

Ben holds both an MBA and Undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta and is a CFA Charterholder.

Ben Hawkins

Rod Girard joined AIMCo in 2011 and leads both the Legal Services and Compliance groups. Rod holds a BA (1992) from the University of Alberta, an MA (1994) from McMaster University, an LL.B (1997) from the University of Toronto, an LL.M (2007) from York University, and an MBA (2011) from Queen’s University/Cornell University.

He is a CPA-CMA and also holds the IC.D designation. Rod was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1999 and Alberta in 2001.

Rod Girard

Angela Fong has been with AIMCo since 2011. As Chief Corporate Officer, she leads a number of functions such as Human Resources, Corporate Strategy & Planning, Business Technology, Internal Communications and Procurement and Vendor Management.   

Angela has more than 20 years of executive level experience within a variety of industries. She deeply enjoys being a part of “the build” within an organization, and has extensive experience working with business in developing the sustainable corporate infrastructure and programs necessary for long-term success.  

Angela is a holder of the Institute of Corporate Directors Director designation and serves on the boards of Covenant Health as well as two other privately held Edmonton based organizations. She is also a volunteer with the University of Alberta Venture Mentoring Service, a program that cultivates strong and capable entrepreneurs through coaching and mentoring.

Angela Fong

Phyllis Clark served as the Vice-President (Finance and Administration) and Chief Financial Officer at the University of Alberta, from 2002 to 2016. Previously, she spent five years as Vice-President (Finance and Administration) at York University, and prior to that, she was Assistant Deputy Minister of Ontario’s Management Board Secretariat. Between 1991 and 1992, Ms. Clark was the Province of Ontario’s Chief Economist and Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance. She was the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Bank of Canada for four years.

Ms. Clark currently chairs the Board of Directors for the Royal Canadian Mint, is Audit Chair for TEC Edmonton and serves on the Board of Directors for the Inuvialuit Investment Corporation. She also chairs the Edmonton Symphony and Concert Hall Foundation Board. Ms. Clark was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. She went on to complete her Doctorial Candidacy and Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Michigan in 1973.

Phyllis Clark

Roger A. Renaud, CFA is a highly accomplished executive with extensive Canadian and international board experience at successful investment management firms. Most recently, Mr. Renaud was President, Canada and Global Chief Operating Officer of Manulife Asset Management (MAM), the global asset management arm of Manulife with over $500 billion of assets under management. He also oversaw the integration of Standard Life Investments (Canada) with MAM to become one of the largest pension managers in Canada.  

Since 2018, Mr. Renaud has been a director of the capital development fund Fonds de solidarité FTQ and previously served on several Canadian and international boards related to Manulife and Standard Life between 1998 and 2018. Mr. Renaud holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Laval University and a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute. He also completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.  

As a director of several boards including non-profit organizations, Mr. Renaud has acquired extensive experience over the past 20 years in investment management, social responsibility, corporate transformation, strategy and planning, risk management, pension plans and corporate governance. 

Roger A. Renaud

Tom Woods spent his entire career with CIBC and Wood Gundy, the predecessor firm of CIBC World Markets. He started in Investment Banking, advising companies raising financing in the equity and debt capital markets as well as mergers and acquisitions, and later was Head of Canadian Corporate Banking, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and retired in 2014 as Vice Chairman.

Mr. Woods serves on the boards of Bank of America Corporation; Merrill Lynch International; the CIBC Children's Foundation; St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation; and the Board of Advisors of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto.

Mr. Woods has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Tom D. Woods

Sharon Sallows is a professional director with significant public and private company experience. Ms. Sallows currently serves as a director of Home Capital Group Inc and chairs
its Human Resources and Compensation Committee. She is also a trustee of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust and Chartwell Retirement Communities. Previous directorships include Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, USA REIT, Executive Risk Services and Maple Mortgage Trust.

Previously, Ms. Sallows was a principal in Ryegate Capital Corporation, a company engaged in the provision of merchant banking and advisory services to institutional and corporate clients. Ms. Sallows is a former Executive Vice-President of MICC Properties Inc. and, prior to that, held various positions at the Bank of Montreal including Senior Vice-President, Real Estate, Corporate Banking.

Ms. Sallows received a BA from Carleton University, a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a PhD from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and also holds the ICD.D designation.

Sharon Sallows

Mark Wiseman is a leading investment manager and experienced corporate executive. He was formerly President and CEO of Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board. He was Global Head of Active Equities for BlackRock, Inc. and Chairman of BlackRock Alternative Investors, and also served as Chair of the firm's Global Investment Committee and on its Global Executive Committee.

Previously, Mr. Wiseman was responsible for the private equity fund and co-investment program at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan; was an officer with Harrowston Inc., a publicly traded Canadian merchant bank; and a lawyer with Sullivan & Cromwell, practicing in New York and Paris. He also served as a law clerk to Madam Justice Beverley McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Wiseman was a member of the Advisory Council on Economic Growth, which advised the Canadian Finance Minister on economic policies to achieve long-term sustainable growth.

Mr. Wiseman holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and a law degree and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Toronto. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Yale University, where he obtained a Master of Laws. He is a certified member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.

He serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Alpine Canada, the United Way of Greater Toronto, Sinai Health Services, the Capital Markets Institute and the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Rotman School of Management, the University of Toronto's graduate business school.

Mark Wiseman

Dr. Kenneth F. Kroner (Ken) is CEO of Pluribus Labs, a new systematic investment manager that utilizes a unique exposure-driven investment process to create innovative investment solutions for its clients.

Ken is recently retired from BlackRock. As a Senior Managing Director at BlackRock, he was global head of Multi-Asset Strategies and global head of Scientific Active Equities. These teams were responsible for several hundred billion dollars of active investment strategies. Ken also served as a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee and BlackRock’s Global Operating Committee. Previously, Ken was an associate professor of economics and finance at the University of Arizona.

Ken serves or has served on various academic boards, foundation boards and academic journal editorial boards. His research on forecasting volatility and asset returns has been widely published in both academic and practitioner journals. He earned a BA degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Alberta and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at San Diego.

Kenneth F. Kroner

Jackie Sheppard was appointed to the AIMCo board of directors effective July 1, 2018.

Jackie Sheppard is the former Executive Vice President, Corporate and Legal of Talisman Energy Inc. Ms. Sheppard is Chair and Director of Emera Energy Inc. She has been an Emera Director since February 2009 and became Chair of the Board in May 2014. She served as the inaugural Chair of the Research and Development Corporation of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, a Provincial Crown Corporation, until June 2014. She is the founder and Lead Director of Black Swan Energy Inc., an Alberta upstream energy company that is private equity financed. She is also a Director of Seven Generations Energy Ltd., a publicly-traded energy company focused on Canadian natural gas development. She was a Director of Cairn Energy PLC, a publicly-traded U.K.-based international upstream company, until retiring from that board at the end of 2018.

Ms. Sheppard is a Rhodes Scholar, having received an Honours Jurisprudence, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Oxford University. She earned a Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Jackie Sheppard

The leadership team at AIMCo has a history of experience in the public sector and academia. The team has worked at organizations such as The Brookings Institution, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and Max Bell School of Public Policy. They have also received education from institutions such as Harvard Business School and the Institute of Corporate Directors. This experience and education gives the team the skills and knowledge necessary to lead AIMCo.
