Yet on many social media, the contents are determined by the makers, the social media companies. They decide which of your friends’ posts you see, and which commercials appear on your screen. Is a certain type of content not your cup of tea? You can always block users and tags from your timeline, to stop them from showing up on your screen. This way, we prevent so-called ‘toxic’ accounts and subjects, and keep the platform fun for everybody.
