Toms Andersons has a diverse work experience spanning several airlines and cargo handling companies. Toms began their career in 1993 at Baltic International Airlines, where they quickly moved up to become the Manager of Reservations. In 1995, they joined airBaltic as the Manager of Reservation and Distribution Systems, where they were responsible for implementing the passenger reservation system and negotiating landing slots at major European airports. Andersons then transitioned to British Airways, where they held various commercial management roles, including Commercial Manager for the Baltic States and Commercial Manager for Finland & Baltics. In these positions, they were responsible for developing annual sales and marketing plans, managing international teams, and overseeing budget and revenue target achievement. In 2007, Andersons returned to airBaltic as the Vice President of Cargo, where they had overall responsibility for the cargo operation and strategy. Most recently, they have joined Baltic Cargo Center as a Member of the Management Board, overseeing cargo handling and warehouse operations at Riga airport.
Toms Andersons obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) from 1989 to 1992, specializing in Computer Science & Mathematics. In 2006, they attended the University of the Witwatersrand for the British Airways Commercial Leadership Programme, although no degree was obtained in this field. Toms Andersons also acquired various certifications on LinkedIn, focusing on skills such as persuasion, negotiation, business development, critical thinking, communication, leadership, decision-making, impromptu speaking, networking, and negotiation.
