William Bernstein

William Bernstein is an accomplished technical advisor and engineer with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and product design. Currently serving as Branch Technical Advisor at the Air Force Research Laboratory since September 2021, William previously held roles as Project Lead at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where responsibilities included leading initiatives on Extended Digital Thread and Product Lifecycle Data Exploration. With a robust academic background, William earned a Ph.D. and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where contributions to human-centered, environmentally conscious product redesign were notable. Additional experience includes positions in design engineering, research internships, and teaching roles across multiple institutions, with a focus on sustainable design and manufacturing practices.
