Alecir Saraiva

Alecir Saraiva has extensive work experience in the field of refractories and maintenance engineering. Alecir started their career as a Trainee Refractory Maintenance Engineer at Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional in October 2006. After working as a Refractory Maintenance Engineer for a year, they were promoted to the role of Senior Refractory Maintenance Engineer in April 2009. In this role, they managed refractory maintenance activities and development processes for Blast Stoves and Casthouse equipment, conducted root cause analysis for equipment failures, and collaborated with OEM for cost reduction and process improvement.

In 2016, Alecir joined Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) as a Reliability Engineer and Refractory Specialist. Alecir worked on preventive and shutdown maintenance strategy definition and optimization, conducted failure investigations, and participated in strategic projects to increase equipment and system reliability. After two years, they were promoted to Senior Reliability Engineer/Refractory Specialist, where they managed non-destructive inspections, implemented a welding approval form system, and provided long-term solutions for piping and equipment failures.

Currently, Alecir is working at Air Liquide as a Principal Engineer - Refractory Specialist. Further details about their role and responsibilities are not provided.

Alecir Saraiva completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas from 2009 to 2012. They further pursued another Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management from the same institution between 2013 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, Alecir Saraiva earned certifications such as SCC - Safety Certification for Contractors from CertEuropA GmbH in December 2023 and Refractory Personnel (API 936) from API - American Petroleum Institute in October 2022.
