Erasmo Piñero Jr.

Erasmo Piñero, Jr. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Erasmo is currently serving as the R&D Chief Engineer at ATAC (Airborne Tactical Advantage Company), where they oversee all engineering aspects of the company, ensuring the outstanding performance of fighter aircraft upgrades within the ATAC fleet of adversary jets.

Prior to their current role, Erasmo worked at Bell Flight as a Principal Engineer, serving as the Propulsion Subject Matter Expert on the V-280 Valor tilt-rotor demonstrator flight test program and the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey Propulsion technical lead. Erasmo was responsible for all aspects related to the propulsion system and represented the propulsion discipline in all flights.

Before joining Bell Flight, Erasmo held the position of Principal Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they served as a Simulation Systems Validation Engineer, responsible for verifying and validating the performance of simulators for the F-35. Erasmo was also the Lead Propulsion Discipline Flight Test Engineer on the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.

Erasmo's earlier work experience includes roles at Pratt & Whitney as an Engineering Specialist, where they were involved in engine integration and preliminary studies of future high bypass commercial aviation gas turbine engines. Erasmo also worked as a Test Engineer responsible for the assembly, instrumentation, and performance testing of gas turbine engines.

Erasmo began their career at Sikorsky as an Engineering Specialist, where they worked as a structural design engineer and avionics systems engineer on various helicopter projects.

Prior to their engineering roles, Erasmo served as a Naval Flight Officer and Space Defense Officer in the U.S. Navy. Erasmo was responsible for early warning and air defense aboard carriers and served as an Electronic Warfare Officer and tactician.

Erasmo Piñero, Jr. pursued their education in aeronautical science and engineering. Erasmo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Florida from 1982 to 1984. Later, they attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from 1992 to 1997.
