Matt "A.B." Renbarger has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Matt "A.B." started their career as an F-16 pilot in the 23rd Fighter Squadron in 2002 and continued flying various aircraft throughout their career. Matt "A.B." served as an F-16 evaluator pilot in the 61st Fighter Squadron from 2005 to 2008 and then transitioned to becoming a weapons officer and instructor pilot in the 80th Fighter Squadron and 8th Operational Support Squadron in 2008. From 2009 to 2012, they served as the assistant director of operations and weapons officer for the 58th Fighter Squadron.
In 2012, Renbarger transitioned to a role in senior leader management in the ACC. In 2013, they became the commander and F-35 evaluator pilot for the 58th Fighter Squadron, a position they held until 2015. Renbarger then pursued further education, becoming a graduate student at the National War College from 2015 to 2016. Matt "A.B." subsequently served as the senior Air Force advisor for force development at OSD Policy from 2016 to 2018.
Renbarger's most recent work experience includes serving as the commander and F-35 evaluator pilot for the 56th Operations Group from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they hold the position of director of operations and Mirage F1 pilot at ATAC (Airborne Tactical Advantage Company) since August 2020.
Matt "A.B." Renbarger earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from USAFA in 1999. Matt "A.B." then went on to pursue an MBA from Touro University between 2007 and 2009. In 2008, they also attended the USAF Weapons School. Most recently, they obtained a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College in 2016.
