Paolo Ridolfi is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Chief Engineer at Airbus since September 2017, focusing on both the Starlab Interface System and Lunar Missions. Previous roles include Electro-Mechanical Systems Lead for the NASA/ESA Mars Sample Return project and Mechanisms Architect for the Sample Fetch Rover. Prior to Airbus, Paolo worked at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd as an Optical Systems Engineer and at Thales Alenia Space as a Trainee Systems Engineer on a Mars mission project. Earlier experience includes a position as Mechanical Design Engineer at IMA T&T. Paolo holds a PhD in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, along with a Master’s and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, and a Specializing Master in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino.
