Brian Maguire

Senior Director, Business Integration at Airbus US Space & Defense

Brian Maguire has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Brian started their career as a CO-OP Engineer at Ball Aerospace in 1998. Later, they joined the same company as a Test Engineer for Star Tracker Systems in 2002 and eventually became a Test Manager for the same systems in 2004. In 2006, they transitioned to working as a Test Engineer for the Kepler Spacecraft until 2009. From 2009 to 2012, Brian served as an Electrical Integrator for the GMI Instrument at Ball Aerospace. Brian then worked on the Ozone Mapping Profile Suite (OMPS) Instrument Main Electrical Box (MEB) as a Test Engineer from 2012 to 2014. Brian also held multiple roles at Ball Aerospace between 2016 and 2022. Brian initially served as a Principal System Integration and Test Engineer, focusing on Electrical, Software, RF, and Optical Integration Systems. Later, they became a Mission Assurance Manager, leading a cross-functional team responsible for the successful execution of space hardware projects. Lastly, they worked as a Senior Engineering Manager/Staff Consultant, leading the Capabilities Development team and advising on the integration of Information Assurance and System Security Engineering into the enterprise. Brian's most recent role is Senior Director, Aerospace Engineering at Loft Orbital since 2022. In this position, they support a team of engineers and assists in the build-out and growth of various sectors of the company. Brian also collaborates with other departments such as QMS, Security, and Operations. Brian's future role, starting in 2023, will be Senior Director, Business Integration at Airbus US Space & Defense, Inc.

Brian Maguire attended Purdue University from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Brian then pursued further education at Webster University from 2007 to 2009, earning their Master of Science (MS) degree in Space Operations Management.
