Jim McNamara

Jim McNamara has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Jim currently serves as the Systems Engineering Director at Airbus US Space & Defense, Inc. since June 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager at the same company from April 2020 to November 2022.

Before joining Airbus, Jim worked at OneWeb where they held several roles. Jim was a Principal Systems Engineer from June 2019 to April 2020, leading research and design on future-generation spacecraft systems and components. Jim also served as a Senior Systems Engineer from June 2018 to June 2019 and as a Mechanical Engineer from October 2015 to June 2019. In these roles, they played a significant role in the design, development, and qualification of spacecraft mechanisms, including solar array deployment systems and drive assemblies. Jim also conducted trade studies on spacecraft architectures and generated specifications for next-generation systems.
