Richard Kemp-Harper

Richard Kemp-Harper has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Richard is currently the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at AirEx Technologies since February 2023. Previously, they worked at Ballard Power Systems as a Strategy Director from November 2021 to December 2022.

Prior to that, Richard spent a significant amount of time at Ballard Motive Solutions, where they held the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Investor from April 2015 to November 2021. In this position, they were responsible for leading company strategy, business development, and fundraising, contributing to a tenfold growth of the business. Richard was instrumental in establishing a strong market presence and reputation, working closely with government bodies and stakeholders to create strategic programs in zero emission transport and clean energy. Furthermore, Richard also served as the Head of Innovation and Business Development in the same company from October 2013 to April 2015.

Additionally, Richard has experience working as a Business Consultant at ITO World from January 2014 to March 2016, providing consulting services to businesses. Richard also founded Kemp Harper Associates, a strategic consultancy for technology businesses, where they served as the Founder and Managing Director from October 2013 to April 2015. In this role, they supported companies in identifying product-market fit, developing routes to market, and navigating the UK funding landscape and innovation ecosystem.

Richard's previous roles include Lead Technologist Transport and Energy and Programme Manager, Intelligent Transport Systems and Services at Innovate UK from April 2011 to September 2013 and from August 2009 to April 2011, respectively. Richard's early career consisted of research positions. Richard worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Sydney from March 2000 to February 2001 and at the Biochemistry Department, University of Oxford from September 1998 to February 2000.
