Bijan Golkar has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Bijan started their career at AirHop Communications in 2014 as a Senior System Engineer and progressed through various roles, including Staff System Engineer and Principal System Engineer. Since 2019, Bijan has been serving as the Director of System Engineering at AirHop Communications. In addition to their work at AirHop, Bijan has also made contributions to industry organizations such as the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), Telecom Infra Project, and Small Cell Forum.

Bijan Golkar obtained their BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from KNToosi University in the years 2001 to 2005. Bijan then pursued a MASc degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, which they completed from 2005 to 2007. Subsequently, Bijan enrolled at the University of Toronto, where they successfully obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from 2007 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Bijan Golkar also obtained several certifications in the field of machine learning. In 2018, they completed the following certifications on Coursera: "Deep Learning Specialization," "Sequence Models," "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning."
