Steven Barry

Steven Barry is an accomplished professional in the field of applied mathematics and risk intelligence, currently serving as the Risk Intelligence Lead at Airservices Australia since November 2010. In this role, Steven leads a team focused on developing innovative models for the analysis of both Australian and international airspace, aiming to enhance operational efficiency while minimizing risk, time, and fuel costs for airlines. Prior to this position, Steven contributed to the aviation sector as a Risk Intelligence Specialist, and held academic roles at the Australian National University, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Toronto, where research focused on topics such as mathematical epidemiology and fluid dynamics. Steven holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of New South Wales and a BSc (Honours) in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the University of Adelaide.
