Colm O Gormain has extensive experience in regulatory affairs and policy development. Colm is currently working as the Head of Regulatory Affairs at SSE Airtricity since November 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Regulatory Affairs Manager at the same company from December 2019 to November 2020. Before joining SSE Airtricity, Colm worked as the Head of Policy & Advocacy at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission from October 2018 to September 2019. Colm also served as the Regulatory Affairs Manager for SSE plc in both Ireland and Northern Ireland from November 2017 to October 2018. Colm's earlier experience includes working as a Policy Manager at the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) from October 2011 to November 2017. Colm started their career as a Team Leader at Benugo Ltd from April 2009 to September 2010.
Colm O Gormain's education history begins in 2002 when they enrolled at Trinity College Dublin. Colm completed their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Law in 2006. Following this, in 2007, they pursued further studies at Queen Mary University of London, obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Commercial & Corporate Law, with a specialization in competition law in 2008. Later, in 2015, Colm attended the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management between 2015 and 2017.
