Matt Newby

Matt Newby is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the field of software development, primarily focused on systems for air traffic management. Since June 2006, Matt has held various roles at Airways New Zealand, progressing from Senior Software Engineer to Principal Software Engineer, and developing software for both the New Zealand OCS system and an Air Traffic Management system using C++. Previously, Matt worked at Navman AU/NZ as a Team Leader overseeing fleet tracking system development and gained significant project management insights as a software engineer. Early career experience includes senior embedded software development at M2 Technology Ltd and foundational work at Task Technology Ltd. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of Auckland and completed an Inspiring Leaders Course at the University of Otago in 2014.
