Tyrone Appel

Tyrone Appel currently serves as Deputy Team Leader and Air Traffic Controller at Airways New Zealand, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, Tyrone was with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) from April 2016 to November 2023, where responsibilities included Deputy Head of Tower Operations and Air Traffic Controller. From February 2009 to March 2016, Tyrone worked at ATNS as a Senior Air Traffic Controller, also taking on roles as Deputy Manager for Special Air Events and On-the-Job Training Instructor. Tyrone completed a degree in Aerodrome and Approach Procedural, Air Traffic Controller at the Aviation Training Academy from 2009 to 2012.
