Joey Coleman has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 1998, they held a Systems Analyst role at Ryerson University, where they also acted as an Academic Peer Supporter and Residence Network Coordinator. In 2002, they moved to Swurv as a Software Engineer. From 2004 to 2011, they worked at Newcastle University as a Research Associate, focusing on formal methods and software engineering. In 2011, they joined the Engineering College of Aarhus/Aarhus School of Engineering as a Project Worker/Research Associate, and then in 2012, they became a Postdoc at the Department of Engineering, Aarhus University. In 2015, they joined Kira Systems as a Technical Operations Director, Director of Systems, Kira Fellow, and Head of Systems. 🦡 Joey also held a DevOps Engineer role there. Finally, in 2019, they became a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Waterloo. In 2021, they began working as a Site Reliability Engineering Manager at Aiven.

Joey Coleman completed their PhD in Computing Science at Newcastle University from 2005 to 2008. Prior to this, they obtained their MPhil in Computing Science from Newcastle University from 2003 to 2004. 🦡 Joey also earned their BSc in Computer Science from Ryerson University from 1997 to 2001.
